Works Like A Champ! Jun 16, 2010 This shock-absorbing spider mount is a great replacement for the standard mount that comes with the CO1U microphone. Easy to install on any stand, thanks to the threaded adapter screw. Be sure to remove it with a coin or screwdriver for a larger thread stand or arm. Comes fully assembled. Works great and looks good. Can't say a bad thing about it for my applications.
Slightly Misleading Jun 02, 2010 The Amazon name of this product implies that it's designed for condenser mics in general. While it did fit my Apex 205 ribbon mic perfectly (the same size screw thread), it is just a tiny bit too small to hold an AKG C-414. Luckily, I scavenged the inner mount part from my half-broken AKG shockmounts to make a working frankenstein mount, it should be stressed that this is NOT a general-purpose shockmount.
That said, the build quality is solid and this is a good unit otherwise.
Doesn't Fit Nady SCM-800 May 09, 2010 This mic isn't advertised for the Nady SCM-800 (an older condenser mic I bought in '05), but I took a chance after reading so many positive reviews on here for other mics. It doesn't, after all, fit the Nady. Still, it is a quality mount with potential for other mics. For my purposes, I can stand the mic on end and the cord weighs it down enough to hold it *fairly* steadily in place (it's not in danger of falling over). But from any other angle, the mount simply would not hold the mic. In fact, it could damage your mic if you use it in any other position. Bear in mind, this is NOT a design flaw of the Samson -- it's a great product. I just wanted any potential buyers to know. I would rate it a strong 4 1/2 stars if I could.
Very Nice May 06, 2010 I am using this shockmount with my Audio- Technica AT 2020 mic and the threading doesn't quite make a tight connection but with a spacer it works perfectly. I would recommend this mount over the more expensive ones made for the AT2020, it will get the job done. Great mount, great price.
A must have piece of equipment for home studio microphones! Apr 28, 2010 If you own the Samson C01U USB mic, the shock mount is a must! I can't tell you how many times my primary mic boom/stand (tripod) has been knocked down, or fell on it's own, due to the weight of the Samson mic. Anyway, this shock mount saves the day. It's lightweight, yet sturdy, and does a great job of protecting the mic. Finally, if you already have a mic, I would suggest you not utilize, until you've purchased and installed a shock mount. Great investment and I highly recommend.
